Our History

The Computer Guy

Hello and Welcome... How far back do you want to go?

The first "real" computer I owned was a Sharp PC-1500. Not much more than a calculator that you could program using Basic. But if you're a 15 year old kid then and it's way back in time... then this was one cool thing. The iPod of its day.

Computer Repair Wellington

I started my career at the age of 18 working at a local computer store selling and servicing computers. At the time we were working on operating systems using CP/M, DOS and original Apple based operating systems. Those were the days.

Then IBM released the IBM PC in 1981 and things really started taking off. There was early competition to the IBM in the name of Osborne, Compaq and Sanyo. Remember 5 1/4" floppy drives? How about a whopping 20MB hard drive. Nice big solid bricks they were. Processor speed was fast back then, we're talking 1 whole megahertz.

I went through all the operating systems... ring any bells?

DOS (version 1 to 7.1), IBM OS/2 Warp, Windows 1.1, Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT, Lantastic, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Ubuntu, Mac OSX.... I've worked on them all and more. Now we are moving into a new era of tablet machines (iOS and Android) and very smart phones and I'm still on top of it.

Windows - All versions

Since then I have worked non stop in the IT (Computer) industry and have seen computer progress to the blazing speeds they are today. I wonder though... why computers still seem to take the same amount of time to boot up as they did 20 years ago. Hmmmm.

There is not much I have not done. Business, advertising, administration, sales and of course computers are all well understood. Working with so many different businesses has given me an excellent understanding and appreciation of what makes a business tick and allows for real out of the box thinking. I'm not your normal techie.

My current personal machines I use most often are are:
1) 2011 Apple Macbook Pro 4GB Ram / 750GB hard drive, 1TB Time machine HD
2) Dell Windows 7 Laptop
3) MSI 10.1" Netbook
4) Apple iPad 2
5) 3rd and 4th Gen iPod Touches
6) LG Android Optimus One mobile phone.

Thanks for visiting my web site. I hope to be able to help.
